NELL’S GARDEN

NELL’S GARDEN
SUMMER IS THE SEASON AND EVERYTHING IS COMING UP FRUITS & VEGGIES.

When you have two sets of green thumbs at work in the fruit and vegetable garden at the Oakville estate, it’s understandable why there is a generous summer crop to be harvested. Just as the vineyards are turning color for Veraison and harvest is weeks away, Chef Tom Stafford is harvesting his own Oakville estate crop. Talk about a bountiful harvest. Nell’s Garden is the painstaking work of Proprietress Nell Sweeney and Chef Tom with a little helping hand from the soil and the high hillside temperatures at Oakville Estate. From seed to fruit, they have tended to this garden with loving care and attention.

Peppers anyone? From Nell’s Garden to the tasting table at St. Helena

There’s a reason we celebrate National Watermelon Day in the heat of summer. These watermelons in Nell’s Garden have much for Chef Tom to celebrate when they become part of his summer salad menu at St. Helena.

These red tomatoes will be served up in a summer salad or used for one of Chef Tom’s sauces for fresh home made pizza at our St. Helena Tasting Room on weekends.
