Oakville Estate - This 100-acre estate is home to The Sweeney Family, as well as the site of Vine Cliff's state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, and its tour and tasting rooms. Over 20 acres have been planted to Cabernet Sauvignon while another two acres are planted to Merlot and one to Zinfandel. Eight of these acres are planted about 350 feet above the Silverado Trail (Oakville Bench) and the balance of the estate's vines are planted on terraces starting just above and east of the Trail.
Over five different clonal selections of Cabernet Sauvignon are planted at the Oakville Estate. This clonal diversity and the vertical trellising system in place has produced exceptional fruit quality, and hence exceptional wines.
Located in the Oakville Appellation of Napa Valley, the Oakville estate vineyard sits adjacent or close to some of the finest labels in the Valley. Wines from Vine Cliff vineyard have proven to be worthy of their legacy, achieving high scores every year since the first vintage, 1990, was released.
Carneros Estate - Following nearly two years of development work including the construction of a reservoir, irrigation, drainage and trellising installation, this twenty-acre site on Carneros Creek was palnted with twelve acres of rootstock in May of 1999. In the fall of that year the six two-acre blocks were grafted to different clones of Chardonnay, giving a spice rack of variety to the winemaking.
